− | + | |Description=The venerable Thompson M1 was produced in the late 1920s on Earth-That-Was, it was a simplified version of the older Thompson 1928 'Navy' model. The adoption of the weapon was attended by simplifications to the firing action by converting from delayed blowback, to simple blowback, and later by fixing the firing pin, in the M1A1 version. The weapon hasn't changed much over the years, and still features the two button selector, for Safe/Fire, and Semi/Auto, as well as the side mounted cocking handle which was characteristic of the M1. The materials all have been updated and the latest A21 release incorporates some features lost for price consideration from the original design, including the short finned barrel for heat dissipation, and Cutts compensator. The fittings are all stained and lacquered hardwood, with matching forgrip, pistol grip, and shoulder stock. The .45ACp ammo is supplied from a thirty round double column magazine mounted forward of the trigger assembly. This iconic weapon always elicits images of the classic mob movies. | |
