news Time Mods
Time modifications allow you to speed up the process of performing a task, or to increase your capabilities based on elapsed time. When you are attempting to speed the process, this is considered to be 'under pressure', and the table for determining under pressure success/failure should be referenced with these mods in place. For extended timeframes, the normal success/failure table should be determined, until the task is done, or until the task becomes subject to a 'deadline' of sorts, at which point, the under pressure table shall be used. Following is a table of typical difficulty mods based on time:
Time% | -50 | -25 | -20 | -15 | -10 | -5 | 0 | +10 | +20 | +30 | +50 | +75 | +100 | +200 |
Diff | +70 | +25 | +25 | +15 | +10 | +5 | 0 | -5 | -10 | -15 | -20 | -25 | -30 | -40 |
Some tasks can not be rushed, or rushed beyond a certain point, and other tasks can not have their time increased to gain 'improvement' time. Some examples are is firing: Can only pull the trigger so fast. As well, some tasks, such as R&D may be lengthened to guarantee results, but can not be used to increase the capabilities of a finished product, or only by a nominal amount.
